Fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave. 2 positions available. May be offered as a secondment opportunity.
An exciting opportunity to join the Research Accounts team as a Research Finance Assistant where you will be responsible for set up of Research Projects and invoicing funders.

About the Role
As Research Finance Assistant, you will be allocated research project set ups and invoicing of funders to be completed accurately and to tight deadlines.
The role demands a high level of personal responsibility, and you will be expected to develop a considerable level of expertise in the setup of grants, coupled with a thorough understanding of the Projects module on Oracle Financials. At the same time, you will develop detailed understanding of the requirements for FEC accounting.
This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. The post is available until 20th December 2024 or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest.

You will be based in Hythe Bridge Street but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
About You
You should have experience of working in a complex financial administration function with customer contact.
You should have the ability to work individually and as part of a team the ability to work to deadlines.
You should have evidence of high numeracy and the ability to grasp complex concepts.
