Research Associate in Chromatin Biology and Epigenetics Manchester, England
Job description
The Nagarajan lab within the Division of Molecular and Cellular Function, School of Biological Sciences wish to appoint a laboratory-based Research Associate to an exciting project exploring transcriptional mechanisms of aggressiveness in breast cancers.
During this position, the post-holder will undertake a range of activities including: identify or streamline interesting epigenetic targets and validate/elucidate their role in aggressiveness/drug resistance/metastasis using functional next generation sequencing technologies like immunoprecipitation-based proteomics, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and chromatin conformation studies on CRISPR-Cas9 based knockout models and mice xenografts. The candidate will also establish single gene based CRISPR knockout/in models and CRISPR screens. At the end of the project, the candidate is expected to be familiar in establishing the reprogramming of enhancer regulation which makes the cancer cells to be aggressive.

- A willingness to contribute practical and intellectual help and supervision of PhD students
Desirable Skills:
- Basic/extensive knowledge in techniques of transcriptional biology, ChIP-sequencing, RNA-sequencing and/or bioinformatic analyses
- Extensive experience in CRISPR-Cas9 techniques, ATAC-sequencing, single cell gene expression analysis and mass spectroscopy-based approaches.
