Overview
As part of its preparations to become the online safety regulator, Ofcom is seeking to develop its understanding of the internet services that may be in scope of the online safety regime (e.g. user-to-user services and search engines). We are looking for Research Associates that can help us in this understanding. You will be given a sample of internet services (websites or apps) to check whether they have certain characteristics, or functionalities, and you will be required to annotate your findings in a systematic way. We will provide all the guidance, templates, and support you need to perform this assessment.
Skills required:
- Attention to detail - so that we can have a good degree of confidence in the annotations
- Organisation skills – so that webpages are explored and templates are completed systematically
- Research skills - so that the relevant services are identified and the relevant webpages are explored
- Communication skills - so that we are aware of progress and any issues are raised in a timely way
- Time management skills - so that the required sample of services are annotated within the given timeframe
- English language skills - as the subject matter that is being researched will be written in English
To based remotely but to be able to travel to London or Manchester to collect IT equipment on first day.
