Job description: The Role We are seeking a Research Assistant/Research Associate with a background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design or related fields, with specific interests and/or experience in Digital Health and health technologies to work on an exciting new Digital Health project, TORUS. Candidates will ideally have strong skills/experience in human-centred design, co-design processes for engaging with diverse stakeholder communities, interface prototyping and evaluation of digital technologies. You will have working knowledge of preparing research study protocols for ethical review. Experience working with people living with Parkinson's Disease is a significant bonus. You will be expected to collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of researchers across departments at measures changes in specific mobility-related behaviours over weeks and months. You will work with Professor Abigail Durrant and the broader team within Open Lab, a supportive community of interdisciplinary researchers and designers with a world leading reputation for HCI and the co-design of community-focused civic and health technologies. You will also work in close collaboration with HCI and design researchers in the TORUS team at UoB, including Professor Kenton O'Hara and Dr Aisling O'Kane. You will benefit from being based in the multi-award-winning Urban Sciences Building on the Newcastle Helix site, a 'living laboratory' and an exemplar of sustainable urban development in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. This position is available immediately on a full time, fixed term basis for 30 months from the start date.
