Applications are invited from experienced Research Assistants to join Professor Green's lab https://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/people/pi/green in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The post holder will have an interest in and enthusiasm for understanding haematopoietic stem cells and how they are subverted in blood cancers, particularly human myeloproliferative neoplasms. We have a particular focus on the JAK/STAT signalling pathway.
Applicants should have a BSc in biological sciences and experience working in a research laboratory. Experience with molecular biology techniques, tissue culture and accurate recording of data are essential. In addition to performing laboratory-based research, you will have responsibilities for multiple aspects of lab management including ordering, equipment maintenance, risk assessments and database management. Flexibility, the ability to prioritize, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Desirable skills include experience with transgenic animals, handling of clinical samples, database management, and maintenance of a laboratory budget and ordering system.
