This project is based in the group of Dr Jeanne Salje at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research. It would suit a recent graduate who would like to obtain more practical laboratory experience.

These may include maintaining bacterial stocks and cell lines, cloning, purifying proteins, imaging samples, as well as ordering reagents and managing inventory. Techniques will include microscopy, cell biology, biochemistry and microbiology. Training will be provided as required.
You must, by the time of the appointment, have a BSc in the field of infectious diseases, immunology, microbiology or molecular cellular biology and have at least 3 months experience in a laboratory setting.
You should ideally be familiar with cell culture techniques, ELISA, molecular cloning, real-time PCR analysis, and immunofluorescent microscopy. Experience working with obligate intracellular bacteria and working in a CL3 laboratory is advantageous but not required.
