Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
Candidates applying for the position should possess the following:
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or others by the time the appointment begins.
- Priority will be given to candidates with experience in material synthesis/characterization, energy storage materials, and mechanical testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will work on multi-year projects in structural batteries, fast-charging energy storage, lithium metal batteries, and zinc ion batteries supported by ONR and NSF. Plan, conduct and direct a wide variety of experiments. Responsible for the evaluation and interpretation of research data. Conduct experiments using advanced equipment and applying complex techniques, methods and procedures; plan and execute the details of experiments according to research protocol.
