We are looking for an experienced laboratory research assistant to join the Mooney research team at the Ashworth Laboratories.
The Opportunity:
The Mooney group is a newly established lab, which focuses on immunology and infection disease biology. The post holder will conduct in-vitro experiments investigating the role of immune cells. They will also support the PI in managing the lab, including training of other staff, maintaining lab consumables, and oversight of health and safety documentation.
Your skills and attributes for success
- Experience in a range of laboratory technical skills (e.g., flow cytometry, bacteriology, ELISA, qPCR, or miroscopy).
- Experience using sterile technique in tissue culture experiments.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures in a laboratory environment (including, COSHH).
- An ability to manage ordering and purchasing records. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, i.e. ability to work well with students and staff.
