Cadwyn is a community housing association based in Cardiff. We are a diverse business with experience in social housing management and development, social lettings, market lets and sales, commercial regeneration and an amazing recycling project.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Support Worker to join our Housing Services team, which is a multi-functional team and is responsible for an number of areas including lettings, tenancy management, financial and digital inclusion, tenant engagement, support and neighbourhood services.
As a Housing Support Worker, you will be expected to want to look after the well-being of people in their daily lives, to help them settle in their home and support them to be an inclusive part of their community. Your support means the people you support have choice and control in their lives. This could be by helping them to feel settled in their home, aiding their hobbies and interests, connecting them with suitable community groups, enabling them to attend college or encouraging them to develop a new life skill such as cooking or money management. Youll enable people to overcome their fears and challenges whilst helping them to build confidence and self-esteem. To achieve this, understanding how the person understands the work, how they communicate and knowing their likes and dislikes is an important part of the job.
Being a support worker can be a very rewarding job. Even though the role can be hard and often challenging, making a positive difference to someones life and helping them become more independent brings feelings of accomplishment and satisfaction. Its a great career choice for those who enjoy a varied job role and lots of interaction with others. Some of the best parts of the job are sharing new experiences together, creating new memories and celebrating successes.
At Cadwyn the majority of our staff work in an agile way, working mostly at home (if appropriate to the role) with the ability to hot desk at one of our three sites across Cardiff or to work from any other suitable/convenient location.
