The Psychology department in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a Guaranteed Hours, fixed term Research Assistant. This post is expected to commence in September 2023.
The Opportunity:
The Research Assistant will support a Principal’s Teaching Award Scheme (PTAS) project to develop general statistics teaching policy guidelines that aim to reduce students' statistics-related anxiety.
The post holder will assist in conducting a narrative review, organizing and facilitating focus groups with undergraduate and postgraduate students, coordinating and analysing data from a large-scale survey of students on statistics courses, and the creation and dissemination of outputs.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Degree in a discipline with statistical component (e.g. Psychology).
- Experience of conducting literature/narrative review
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing
- Ability to work both independently under appropriate supervision and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
