Job description
We are recruiting an ambitious and energetic postdoctoral scientist with cell biology and animal handling expertise to work on a research project studying neurodegeneration.
The successful applicant will work in the lab of Professor David Rubinsztein, FRS, FMedSci (Cambridge Institute for Medical Research and UK Dementia Research Institute) https://www.cimr.cam.ac.uk/research/principal-investigators/rubinsztein
Applicants must have PhD awarded in a relevant subject. It is essential for this role that you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and skills in the following: Neuronal and astrocyte differentiation of human ESCs and iPSCs, primary neuronal culture, animal handling, standard molecular biology techniques (SDS PAGE, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, RNA isolation, qPCRs, immunocytochemistry, cloning), protein synthesis assays.
The Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) forms part of the University of Cambridge Clinical School and is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The Institute provides modern laboratory accommodation and state of the art research facilities http://www.cimr.cam.ac.uk .
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
