Job description
We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and dedicated Research Assistant in Data Science and Pharmacogenomics to join the research groups led by Professor Daniel Prieto-Alhambra at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford.
As a Research Assistant in Data Science and Pharmacogenomics you will contribute to the programming of analytical pipelines for pharmacoepidemiology, genetic epidemiology, and mendelian randomisation. You will assist with analysing routinely collected data mapped to a common data model, reviewing code written by other members of the team and contribute to the coding or reviewing of R packages and programmes for the analysis of OMOP-mapped data assets under senior supervision.
You will be educated to a degree level in mathematics or engineering or a related field. You will have a good knowledge of R programming and other statistical software packages for genetic analyses. Experience in the analysis of primary care, hospital, health claims, or other type/s of real world data from the UK or international sources and experience in the analysis of biobank data are essential. Knowledge of the OMOP Common Data Model, experience designing and analysing genetic epidemiology studies and experience conducting mendelian randomisation studies are desirable.
This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 2 years.
