About the role
Contributing to the delivery of research projects, the Research Assistant’s primary responsibilities include:
- Collecting quantitative and qualitative data
- Undertaking data analysis
- Conducting literature searches and syntheses (screening, data extraction and providing summaries)
- Administrative tasks such as assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations and funding proposals and the organisation of events

- Salary range £30,000- £36,000 based on experience
- Initially a 2-year contract
About you
Our ideal candidate is a smart, reliable, and motivated individual who can demonstrate outstanding skills based on previous experience.
You’ll have:
- Experience of quantitative and qualitative research, including data collection, analysis, report writing, and use of statistical analysis packages
- Proven skills in searching for and summarising research evidence
- Demonstrated ability to carry out project work to a high standard within tight timelines
- Demonstrated abilities in showing initiative and solving problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate well with multi-disciplinary teams and with a range of professionals, service users and colleagues
- Knowledge of and a commitment to the work of CEI
- A strong sense of social justice, professional ethics and commitment to evidence-based practice
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and manage your work to meet deadlines
- Willingness to work flexibly and adaptably

What qualifications/accreditations are needed?
- An undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, social policy or related discipline
- Post-graduate study is also desirable
