We are looking for a Research Technician to work with our expert Fibro Advanced Therapies team. Do you have a passion for development of new processes for cell and gene therapy field? Then we would love to hear from you.
You will report to the Team Leader for Fibro Advanced Therapies. This is a lab-based role (~80% of the time).
What you’ll do
- Execute key technical and analytical studies connected to process development for complex biomolecules, including viral vector, mRNA, plasmid purifications and analytics.
- Work closely with a cross-disciplinary R&D team of Biologists, Chemists, Engineers and Material Scientists to support process development activities
- Provide support to ensure laboratory compliance to Environment Health & Safety regulations
- Produce detailed laboratory records and create accurate SOPs and technical reports in collaboration with other team members
Who you are
- BSc / MSc in biochemistry, molecular / cell biology / bioengineering (or related fields), with 1+ year experience of relevant laboratory-based experience
- Practical experience with RNA handling is strongly preferred
- Previous experience carrying out a range of analytical assays (dd- / qPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, etc.)
- Knowledge of purifications methods for complex biomolecules, including chromatography and associated instrumentation such as AKTA systems
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent analytical skills and the ability to multitask and succeed in a team environment
- Highly motivated, with a creative and forward-thinking attitude to problem-solving and troubleshooting
