Environment Analyst is an international membership community for the environmental services space, built around our market intelligence service. Our team of analysts help customers examine market opportunities in the ESG, sustainability and environmental services sector, particularly in consultancy. We bring together business leaders and practitioners in peer-to-peer networks and share news, reports and insight with member companies.

Our small but tight-knit team of market analysts have been producing business-critical, independent and trusted market research for 15 years. They help our clients understand and navigate the future of environmental solutions through the data products, reports and regular networking opportunities they nurture.

We are looking to hire a Research Analyst Intern for Summer 2023 (dates to be confirmed with the successful candidate). There is a possibility the position will be made permanent should the candidate demonstrate the required qualities during the period. Highly numerate and confident in their writing ability, the Research Analyst Intern will contribute to a variety of detailed reports and presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support other analysts and the content team by researching and writing articles, contributing to reports and presentations
  • Maintain and analyse data from a wide range of sources to produce statistical models and forecasts
  • Help develop our capacity to produce analysis on current market trends and future outlook of the environmental and sustainability consulting sector
  • Assess the impact of broader demographic, social, commercial and regulatory changes on this sector

You will receive training in all areas of analysis and forecasting from senior colleagues, in combination with rigorous hands-on guidance from your line manager and team members.

Requirements:

  • Final-year university student or recent graduate with up to two years of relevant working experience
  • Strong analytical and research abilities, including the ability to identify subjects that will interest our members and write about them with a focus on industry and company financials
  • Proficiency in handling data and using Excel, as well as good statistical ability, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to write in a clear and engaging manner, argue compellingly, and present data intelligently
  • A proactive and collaborative attitude, and ability to work jointly on research
  • Ability to prioritise and act on own initiative, but openly as part of a tightly knit team
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Interest in understanding both the consumer and business sides of the environmental and sustainability consulting sector
  • Fluent English writing and language skills
  • A strong academic background with a numerical or statistical component
  • A first or upper second class (or expected) degree from a top university in a numerate subject. Candidates with degrees in other subjects will be considered if they have other evidence of strong numeracy
