Role Overview

As a global research analyst, you will work across a wide spectrum of projects in Savills’ World Research team. The role provides exposure to all aspects of real estate across commercial and residential sectors, and all geographies covering the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
Drawing on the experience of Savills research teams across the world, you will liaise individuals from global offices to gather data and market intel, and use it to build and maintain in-house indices and databases. You will complement this with other primary and secondary research, interpreting through analysis in excel and other software.
Strong communication skills are a key to the role, both interpersonal and written. Working closely with World Research team members you’ll deliver accurate, succinct and insightful articles and reports to on key trends shaping global property. Disseminating findings to business stakeholders, clients and colleagues in meetings and through set-piece presentations, you’ll develop your presentation skills.
The role is project-led, and will require careful time management to ensure they are delivered on time and to brief. In addition, the analyst will deal with ad-hoc requests from the team, wider business and external parties, including press, responding in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and write engaging and insightful research content.
  • Input into and manage a diverse range of research publications, blogs and press releases, sometimes working across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collect and manage data from a range of global sources.
  • Manage and maintain databases, producing robust and reliable outputs.
  • Develop thought leadership on a wide range of global estate sectors and themes.
  • Liaise with research colleagues and contacts globally to collect data and establish market trends and drivers.
  • Analyse and interrogate data and market intelligence using tools such as Excel(In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time).

Key Skills


  • The ability to draw conclusions from the analysis of data and articulate them in an accessible manner.
  • An aptitude for quantitative techniques, strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to completing projects.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously, but can also operate as part of a small immediate team and a wider global team.
  • Confidence to communicate with people across Savills and externally at all levels.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Numerate, with a strong mathematical skillset.
  • A high standard of written English.
  • An interest in news, current affairs, the commercial world and global real estate markets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including experience of working with pivot tables and functions in Excel.
  • An aptitude to learn how to use other programmes, such as GIS.
  • Experience in the property industry is advantageous but not essential.

Working with our global business, Savills World Research delivers thematic research across all property sectors and geographies. Forward looking, we consider the factors and forces shaping global real estate markets not only today but in the years to come.

Our research is delivered through publications, presentations to clients, press and other media including video and podcasts.

World Research is responsible for Impacts, Savills flagship, global research programme, comprising of an annual report and regular updates throughout the year. Recent topics have included the future of the office, corporate attitudes to sustainable workplaces, and how lifestyle choices are impacting global residential markets.

The team also run several cities programmes, that monitor both pricing across a range of assets classes and the positioning of different locations in global markets. These include regular global publications on prime residential markets, commercial capital markets, and office occupier trends.
