JOB SUMMARY
Role Responsibilities
Role is a Research Analyst, focusing on Africa and Middle East markets.
The role holder will be part of Standard Chartered’s Research Team, working closely with our in-house economists and analysts to develop research materials. The role holder would need a strong economics background, an interest in financial markets with a particular focus on Africa, the Middle East and other emerging markets.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, strongly numerate, with great presentation skills and the ability to work to a deadline. Initially the role will support other team members in the preparation of research materials but with experience, will gradually assume client facing responsibilities.
Business
The individual will be responsible for:
- Support the team’s in-depth research on economies and markets for publications and presentations.
- Construct and manage data bases and prepare charts for research publications.
- Respond to management requests for data, information and analysis as required.
- Help to prepare ad-hoc reports and summaries based on in-depth knowledge of the latest global research forecasts, insights and publications.

Our Ideal Candidate
- The candidate would require a degree in economics or closely related subject
- An interest in Africa, the Middle East and emerging markets
- Ability to speak French or Arabic would be a bonus
- Experience in database management
- The ability to write to a high standard and have excellent communications skills is essential.
