Part-time: 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)
Fixed-term: for 12 months
Edinburgh College of Art is recruiting a Research Administrative Support Assistant on a fixed term basis.
The Opportunity
To provide administrative support for the Finance, HR and payroll elements involved in research activities undertaken by the Edinburgh College of Art, including: financial processing and administration for the College’s numerous external and internally-funded research grants; logging and maintaining financial transaction records; preparing paperwork to create and amend contracts for research project staff and other administrative activities to support the work of ECA RKEI colleagues.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Good standard of education (Vocational qualifications, N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus proven relevant experience, or standard grades or equivalent plus proven relevant work experience.
- Experience of working with financial procedures and systems in a large, complex organisation is required.
- Demonstrably high standards of customer care and the ability to co-operate and contribute as part of a team.
- Good written and oral communication skills are as important as good numeracy skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to use initiative and a pro-active approach to seeking out information.
- The post-holder should be IT literate, and adept at using MS Excel.
- A strongly developed sense of service delivery and customer focussed approach.
