The Worthing and Adur E.Y.E (Eco, Young, Engaged) was founded in 2008.
The EYE project is a small Sussex based Charity whose objectives are –
Focussing on schools, youth organisations and young people generally, to harness the ideas, energy and enthusiasm of young people to improve the environment by broadening education as to environmental best practice; to provide opportunities to young people to engage with, and influence, businesses and others; and by facilitating access for businesses and others to young people to learn and benefit from energy, ideas and enthusiasm.

EYE is currently managed by a team of 3 trustees and 3 other committee members supported by a group of school pupils – the YEAH team.
The vacancy is for an employed, part-time Project Manager.
Job Purpose: To work with the Trustees, Committee, the YEAH team and other stakeholders to deliver a range of Projects on behalf of the EYE, the most significant being the organisation of an annual Eco Summits for schools bringing together young people of all ages with organisations who are actively engaged in green projects.
The EYE Project is also looking to champion a Community Fridge in Sussex to reduce food waste and help alleviate food poverty and awards programmes for eco-friendly local businesses awarded by young people
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with the Trustees and Committee in pursuit of the EYE objectives
2. Take the lead on organising EYE events involving young people from both primary and secondary schools from Adur and Worthing and greater Sussex.
3. Maintain, build and develop relationships with local schools and their ECO leads. Identify new schools and their needs so as to expand membership and network.
4. Develop and manage the EYE membership.
5. Liaise with and manage the associate membership (including they YEAH team).
6. To identify and establish relationships with organisations who wish to use the EYE’s schools’ network to communicate their activities to the wider community. Organisations include governmental agencies such as local councils, charities and volunteer groups who pursue green objectives and businesses involved in green projects.
7. Developing communications policies to reflect the EYE Project 2022 vision and mission (including website and social media).
8. Support new initiatives for the EYE Project (current example being community fridge and youth club outreach)
9. In conjunction with the members, associate members, and other organisations, develop and manage a programme of events and activities.
10. Play a lead role in the planning and delivery of the annual Eco Summit.
11. Produce regular Newsletter to keep schools updated on the EYE Projects activities and to share Eco projects between schools.
12. Stay abreast of events and activities in the wider world with the objective of adopting new initiatives and best practice.
13. Produce monthly reports for the Committee Meetings and if necessary, any relevant partners.
14. To maintain and nurture a network of young volunteers who get involved in events who the committee wishes to develop into the ECO champions of the future (YEAH! team)

It must be noted that there will always be support from the Committee.
THE CONTRACT
Traditionally the contract has been 20 hours per week over either a 52-week year or a 36-week school year.
However, the EYE Project is prepared to consider an annualised hour’s contract.
