RESCUE DOG CARER AND REHABILITATION ASSISTANT

You must have a good understanding of dogs and their behaviour, be natural around them and be passionate about their care and welfare. You should also be excited about exponentially expanding your knowledge of dog behaviour and training with the team and look to contribute to Love Underdogs' rehabilitation protocol in time.
You must be comfortable working with all breeds, in all weathers and be able to work weekends.
The role requires a socially confident candidate who can communicate to a group with ease.

The job includes
· Exercising dogs and providing daily enrichment.
· Cleaning, feeding, medicating.
· Maintaining clear and accurate records.
· Following training and behaviour modification programs. (Training for our team is ongoing)
· Grooming on a small scale.

Love Underdogs is a small organisation rehoming around 50 to 80 dogs a year, many of whom are considered less adoptable due to medical conditions, age or behaviour.
We pride ourselves in the quality of the care we give our dogs and the professionalism and support we show to our adoptive families for the lifetime of our dogs.

To apply for this role, applicants must provide a full CV with their application together with references if successful. The interviews are in two parts: A video interview followed by a 2 hours practical at the kennels for applicants with a successful interview.
We can offer two rota options:
No1: the rota is on a two weekly basis as outlined below. One week you would be doing the first one and the following week, the second:
Week 1: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri
Week 2: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
No2:
Every week: Wednesday to Sunday
Working hours: 7am to 4pm with two breaks and an hour for lunch.

Salary: £10.00 per hour
