Creating insightful reporting is a key for helping M&S to make better decisions and there has never been a more exciting time to join!

Our Finance Reporting & Analytics team are undergoing transformation to improve reporting and processes in a fast paced commercial environment. The team provides support to business partners, across multiple Finance teams, in the areas of reporting, management information and Financial Planning & Analytics.

Please note, we are looking for an innovative Reporting Analyst, experience of working within a financial environment, or being financially qualified, is not required for this role!

You'll be working alongside a Reporting Delivery Lead, and be accountable for delivering, improving and automating reporting using tools like Excel, Power BI, BOARD and SAP Business Objects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of 'Weekly Trading Reporting' of sales and costs across the UK Business
  • Taking existing reporting in historic formats, and improving for future use, taking options into account for the best user experience and data clarity
  • Helping to develop and maintain new reporting and analysis to lend insight into new areas, ensuring data is accurate and certified for use
  • Driving control and process efficiency, primarily with the development of Power BI modelling to standardise and improve laborious processes
  • Promote a continuous improvement of the reporting catalogue, indicating where new requirements can be met by amending/stopping existing reporting

Key Skills:

  • Power BI Development – experience in building Power BI models and visuals
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build working relationships with key business partners, giving guidance on data and reporting
  • Experience of improvement of processes - making things faster and less prone to error
