The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for analyzing company performance versus the prior year, prior month, budget, etc. This role is a key member of the AGSG Finance team and collaborates closely with team members to gather data, key metrics, and industry insights to analyze data, review such analyses with management, and make recommendations on how to improve company performance. It is an independent contributor and does not have any team members reporting to him/her.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the monthly forecast and annual budget process
- Supports scheduled financial reporting needs of the finance department and key leadership
- Maintain and update weekly, monthly, and annual spending and volume forecasts
- Build and maintain files necessary for annual planning for customers, departments, and business units
- Prepare presentations and ad hoc reports for management meetings and finance team
- Perform research and analysis of account activity and underlying investment portfolios with commentary
- Participate in cross-functional teams on high-visibility financial systems development and implementation
- Work across multiple reporting systems and departments to extract and cleanse data, perform analyses, and make strategic recommendations
- Work closely with the financing team to input valuation data, compile information and produce reports to help identify trends and improve performance
- Complete other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related discipline preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience Forecasting/Finance/Accounting/ or Data Analysis experience, banking industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and organizational skills; attention to detail; and ability to coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Effectively communicates and drives organizational performance changes by translating analytics into actions and sustainable results
- Working knowledge of banking services regulations
- Able to work independently while being a team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully navigate priorities while paying close attention to details
