The Children’s Hearings System provides the operational setting in which SCRA and our partner agencies work. The aim is to provide a safety net for vulnerable children and deliver tailored solutions which meet the needs of the individuals involved, while helping to build stronger families and safer communities.

Working at the heart of our unique care and justice system for children, you will undertake with care and creativity the responsibility for an assigned caseload. Assessing referrals, supporting the hearings process, preparing and conducting relevant proceedings in court as well as working closely with partner agencies, you will provide an excellent service that ensures the care and supervision needs of vulnerable children are met.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in social work, law or another relevant discipline, you will bring at least two years’ experience in a similar environment. You will also be IT literate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates will be expected to use digital technology to deliver virtual hearings using our secure virtual platform (training will be provided), as well as utilising digital technology within SCRA’s Hearings suites.

All SCRA posts are subject to a probationary period of 6 months or the term of the contract if shorter.
