Job description

The Role: What you will do?

The Role:

As Counsellors, we are called to support and empower our clients. We equip individuals with the tools and autonomy they need to overcome challenges in their lives and safeguard their emotional health and wellbeing for the future. If you share our commitment to providing impactful, goal-focused support, come and join our team!

Getting to Know Us

Hello! We’re the EAP Helpline team at Vita Health Group. We work with clients who access our service through their employer / private medical insurer and help to find the right support for them, right there in that moment.

The work we do is a little different to sessional counselling, with a single-issue focus, designed to provide immediate support for each client we see. Working at a peripheral level, we can also provide a channel for clients to access ongoing support, through signposting and onward referral to our Brief Interventions team. The pace and variety of the work we do enables us to draw on all our counselling skills and provides exposure to a wide range of presentations, to develop our clinical knowledge.

As clinicians the work we do can be isolating, but whilst we may work from home, none of us work alone! Here at Vita, we are supported both personally and professionally by a close, connected team and strong clinical leadership. We share the challenges and the successes of our work together and create space for reflection and self-care. We take our development seriously, with high quality CPD, exceptional clinical supervision and ongoing training opportunities. There are also fantastic opportunities for career progression, because we are growing so quickly and we believe in developing talent from within, whenever we can.

If this sounds like the right fit for you, we can’t wait to welcome you on board!

Working Patterns

Flexibility is important for our clients and for us as a team. A successful candidate will work Saturday, Sunday and some evenings during the week.

Getting to know you

This is role for passionate, dynamic clinicians who are looking to make a tangible difference to their client’s emotional health and wellbeing. Alongside this, you will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Recognised Counselling Qualification (Level 4 or above)
  • BACP Registered Membership or equivalent.
  • (NCS Accredited Professional status is also accepted. Unfortunately, Individual and Student Membership cannot be accepted).
  • Minimum 2 years or 200 hours post-graduate counselling experience.
  • Awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
  • Experience of working with diverse client groups, delivering counselling remotely and using PHQ9 and GAD7 assessment tools would be great to see, alongside knowledge of using the Stepped Care model.
  • An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
  • Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required

Next Steps

  • If successful after an initial screening call and interview, we will discuss and agree your shift pattern and contract.
  • We will provide you with all the IT equipment needed, and check in with you prior to your start date to ensure you have everything you need
  • You will receive a full 2 week induction, online and with others, which starts with a introduction from the service mangers and meeting some of your new colleagues
  • We will then support you with “on the job” training to help you practice and use your telephone and IT skills. We have a team of seniors there to support you every step of the way.
