We have an exciting new opportunity for a Relationships & Health Education (PSHE) Mentor to join our amazing Student Experience team to co-ordinate and deliver a tutorial programme which underpins personal development and behaviours and attitudes removing barriers to learning so that learners achieve and reach their full potential. To develop and deliver tutorial material to be used for delivery both within the team and for teaching staff about topical subjects which support themes around Safeguarding, The Prevent Duty, Fundamental British Values, emotional wellbeing, mental health, county lines including socio/economic aspiration.

The successful candidate will provide intervention and restorative tutorial sessions to groups and individuals as required, working with external agencies to provide specialist tutorial input and content for learners, to be a visible and approachable presence on campus. To provide an outstanding service to learners, staff, and other stakeholders actively engaging in developing and promoting the departments operational plan, the College strategic aims and development plans while also actively promote equality, diversity, and fundamental British Values in all aspects of the role.

It is essential that you can evidence previous experience working with young people developing motivation, resilience and strategy development with a good knowledge of Safeguarding, The Prevent Duty, Fundamental British Values, sexual health and relationships. Facilitating young people to overcome barriers to learning or achieving goals such as health, mental health, disability socio/economic disadvantage with excellent Problem solving and taking action to keep a young person focussed on their goal and motivate them.

To be considered for the role you will need to hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in youth work or working with adolescents. Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or commitment to gaining within 24 months of commencement of employment and evidence of continued professional development with an ability to demonstrate a passion for working with children and vulnerable adults.
