Role Purpose:
This role will acquire, maintain and grow profitable long-term relationships with clients as defined within the scope of the team –the role is part of UK International Team catering largely to Asian clients based in the UK and clients who fall within the Global India coverage model. The main purpose of the role is to establish new relationships and manage existing relationships in order to generate NNM ( Net New Money), grow revenues across allocated portfolio, successfully manage and serve existing business relationships and originate new revenue streams. They will also need to assist the desk head in implementing the marketing and client strategy for the desk, to clear pending items, improve quality and resolve problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 'Trusted Advisor' relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients
- Work to continue to reposition the firm to higher value added solicitation, enhancing the perception of the Bank amongst its existing and prospective clients
- Co-ordinate origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of RBWM, CMB, and Global Banking & Markets clients
- Develop and maintain network of KBIs/Intermediaries to originate clients falling within the scope of coverage.
- Establish and maintain networks for co-operation with other HSBC businesses, to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span geographical/product boundaries and regulatory environments
- Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality & requisite returns on risk
- Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector/country expertise as appropriate
- Grow HSBC's share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements
- In conjunction with senior management, assist in the management, development and assessment of staff
- Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
- Grow revenues across allocated portfolio, successfully manage and serve existing business relationships and originate new revenue streams
- Manage junior coverage staff to support and deliver client performance against plan
Key Skills & Experience:
- RDR Level 4 qualification is a minimum requirement of the role with the requirement to achieve level 6 within 12 months of joining
- Previous client service experience within a wealth management environment, and a demonstrable track record of the UK/Indian market.
- Basic knowledge of the UK tax regime with an understanding of Non-Dom, Deemed Dom rules.
- Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of UHNW clients, ideally through direct experience.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of managing the demands of senior internal stakeholders
- Interest in or knowledge of financial markets
