Hours: Full time (35 hours per week) on a rota basis:
Wk 1 & 2: 4 days per week up until 6 or 7pm.
Wk 3: 5 days per week to include a weekend.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Rehoming Coordinator to join our RSPCA Adoption Centre based inside the Pets at Home store in Friern Barnet, where we rehabilitate and rehome cats and kittens and support the local Animal Hospital. Some of the cats and kittens who come into our care have complex needs and therefore require extra care and understanding before they are ready to begin looking for their new home
What you’ll be doing as an RSPCA Rehoming Coordinator:
- Providing a safe space for cats in the center, ensuring correct placement of foster cats & coordinating with foster carers to ensure the successful rehabilitation & rehoming of cats in our care.
- Attending to the needs of cats at the center, including feeding, socializing, grooming, administering treatments as directed and monitoring their behaviors.
- Liaising with the local RSPCA hospital regarding the transport and intake of cats, discussing their care, health and medical needs & maintaining good records of these.
- Transportation of animals in and around London (mainly North London).
- Interviewing adopters, conducting checks and selecting the most suitable home for each cat depending on their individual needs.
- Carrying out admin as required; adoption paperwork, microchip registrations, emails, phone calls, ensuring cats paperwork is up to date etc.
- Providing professional and courteous customer service ensuring all queries are appropriately resolved or directed to the correct department / charity.
- Liaising with RSPCA and Pets at Home colleagues to plan and run fundraising and community engagement events in store
- Assisting with new volunteers and foster recruitment.
What we are looking for in you

- A familiarity and keen interest in animal health and welfare issues

- Experience of animal care work
- Experience with behaviors of animals in rescue
- Positive, helpful and diplomatic attitude
- A full and valid manual UK driving license
- Confident driving in and around London
- Good customer service skills
- Computer literacy and basic admin skills
- Confidence in managing social media platforms
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including some evenings and weekends
