About The Role
As the Regulatory Reporting Business Partner, you will be responsible for leading Cadent’s regulatory reporting processes, ensuring that we meet all of our regulatory reporting requirements whilst ensuring that there are appropriate assurance processes in place around the reported data and all of our regulatory submissions.
To do this you will work collaboratively with a wide range of leads from across our business providing them with expert advice on our Gas Transporter Licence and associated documents including the regulatory Reporting Instructions and Guidance (RIGs) and Data Assurance Guidance (DAG).
You will also lead our interface with our economic regulator, Ofgem, on regulatory reporting matters as well as on the development of, and compliance with, our Gas Transporter licence.
Key Accountabilities
- Leading the programme management and assurance of Cadent’s regulatory reporting processes.
- Ensuring Cadent’s compliance with the reporting and assurance requirements set out in our Gas Transporter licence and associated documents, including the Reporting Instructions and Guidance (RIGs) and Data Assurance Guidance (DAG).
- Leading Cadent’s internal Regulatory Reporting Assurance (governance) Group.
- Leading the day-to-day relationship with Ofgem on regulatory reporting.
- Influencing, monitoring, understanding, and communicating changes to our Gas Transporter licence and associated documents.
- Leading our internal licence management processes, ensuring Cadent’s compliance with our licence obligations.
- Effectively managing Cadent’s response to information requests received from our economic regulator, Ofgem.
- Managing the notification of, communication with, and reporting to Ofgem relating to Major Gas Incidents within the Cadent footprint.
- Build effective relationships with Cadent’s senior leadership team, including our Executive Committee, and influence business decisions relating to regulatory reporting and assurance as well as the wider regulatory framework.
- Design, drive and ensure delivery of key regulatory performance improvement initiatives.
- Manage the delivery of Cadent’s internal risk and compliance processes for the Strategy and Regulation function.
- Promote a positive culture through visible proactive, consistent and influential behaviours, championing all aspects of people, processes, technology and data excellence.
- Create a high performing team with improved general skills and capabilities, wider range of specialists in key business areas, nurture and develop talent and provide career progression opportunities.
- Lead on wider projects and initiatives as required.
- Actively promote safety, diversity and inclusion and help to create a shared purpose within the organisation.
About You
A critical thinker with a strong track record of successful delivery within a regulated environment, demonstrating:
- Drive, initiative and leadership, good interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to lead, prioritise and manage multiple workstreams to challenging timescales.
- A strong understanding of Cadent/GDN (or wider network utility) business activities.
- An excellent understanding of the RIIO regulatory framework, or other complex regulatory / commercial frameworks with the ability to become an expert at pace in new areas.
- Experience of managing and assuring large reporting programmes, or similar business-wide programme management experience.
- The ability to digest and interpret complex information whilst articulating findings and solutions in a clear and accessible manner to support or influence decision making.
- A collaborative approach with good interpersonal skills to engage with the wider business and leadership teams.
- Clear verbal, presentational and written communication skills (within Word and PowerPoint).
- The ability to create high performing teams through the ability to coach, mentor and develop people.
- The ability to pick up new skills and knowledge.
- A strong focus on customers and stakeholders.
