Job description
We are looking for professional, enthusiastic people to join our team of Regulatory Officers. Working across the North of England, you will play a critical frontline role. You will regulate a range of businesses who operate in the Producer Responsibility regime. You will also help to regulate International Waste Shipments. Your job will be to ensure that producers, treatment sites and exporters of waste comply with their responsibilities. You must have an eye for detail and will take appropriate enforcement action where necessary to protect the environment and drive towards a circular economy.
The role is varied and challenging. You must be able to work as part of a dispersed team requiring you do be well-organised, self-motivated and disciplined.
Whatever your background, you’ll be interested in the environment, making a difference and using environmental regulation to achieve improvements that are significant but not always visible to the general public.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

In addition to having an office base, you may work from home occasionally. Some travelling for training, meetings and site visits is expected. A full clean driving licence is essential.
