The core task of this role is to Register births, still-births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, carry out all related duties and responsibilities in compliance with the Registration Acts.
Attest routine notices of marriage/civil partnerships; conduct statutory and non-statutory ceremonies at registration offices, religious buildings and approved premises.
Advise members of the public and partners on all matters relating to the registration service
Deal with all registration corrections, respond to face to face, telephone, online or postal enquires and submit all weekly/quarterly returns within the stated timescales.

This is a permanent post based at Lancashire Registration Service's office in St Anne's. However, the successful candidate will sometimes be required to work in the office at County Hall, Preston, where an initial period of training will also take place. This is an annualized hours post, with 520 hours to work in each financial year. The hours will generally be worked in shifts of 6-7.4 hours, which fall within the common working day. The shifts will be scheduled as and when required on a monthly rota, and a fixed working pattern cannot be guaranteed. The successful candidate may also occasionally be required to work at short notice.
