Job description
- Coordinates the department's efforts in the certification of NCAA eligibility of student-athletes to ensure student-athletes meet all NCAA academic eligibility requirements as related to enrollment and academic progress towards graduation.
- Audits transcripts and plans of study to determine student-athletes' compliance with NCAA, University, and College degree requirements and University regulations.
- Ensures timely submission of eligibility rosters which may require changes to work schedule during key periods of the year to ensure that all rosters are submitted in a timely manner and meet compliance deadlines.
- Is the primary department contact for Intercollegiate Athletes and the Athletic Compliance Office.
- Keeps informed of University and NCAA by-laws, policies, rules, and regulations that pertain to degree requirements.
- Works closely with other staff in the Office of the Registrar and other University offices to ensure smooth coordination and accuracy of information.
- Researches problem situations and follows up with students, faculty, parents, deans, and administrators to ensure equitable treatment.
- Maintains and updates policies and procedures for athletic eligibility in conjunction with the Office of the Registrar, Athletic Compliance, and supervises the Office of the Registrar’s High School Dual Enrollment Coordinator and other staff members as needed.
- Assists with Graduation ceremonies, degree audit enhancements, and overall management of the Office of the Registrar.
