Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 annually
You will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Outgoing Loans program, with focus on maintaining updated loan records in our database, processing renewal paperwork for long-term loans, and coordinating billing for loan-related expenses. You are extremely detail-oriented, you consistently meet deadlines, and you are a successful multi-tasker. You have strong computer skills, and prior museum registrar experience in outgoing loans.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
. Coordinate loan preparations to include maintaining up to date loan documentation and data entry in the TMS database, in-house consults with curatorial and conservation staff, facility reviews, securing approvals, confirmation of loans.,
. Arrange all aspects of the transfer of artwork to/from The Met and between loan venues including transportation, couriers, security, insurance, packing, storage.
. Prepare billing for all museum loan expenses including review of all loans requiring pre-billing and preparation of budget estimates.
. Facilitate preparation of all reports and submissions for the Board of Trustees and the Director's office.
. Assist in developing, revising, and maintaining loan and billing procedures, financial information, ad hoc query reports, and statistics.
. Assemble files in advance of transfer to Archives.
. Coordinate projects with Storeroom One personnel and packers.
. Complete a Security Threat Assessment application for TSA.
. Supervise volunteers and interns, in consultation with manager.
. Other projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
. Bachelors in art history or museum studies, or equivalent experience.
. Two years related experience in registration and/or museum loans.
. Computer proficiency - Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
. Collections Management - TMS experience.
