Here at Companion Care Croydon we are passionate about giving gold standard service to our clients and their pets.We have a dedicated nursing team & we pride ourselves on being able to give lots of clinical freedom as well as taking on new and exciting ideas within the practice. We have a very organised and structured approach, allowing fairness, accountability & to learn new prospects within the team.
We have an established and friendly team comprising of 5 Vets, 5 RVNs, 1 Practice Manager, 3 Student Nurses, 3 Veterinary Care Assistant and 5 Client Care Advisors. We also have an experienced orthopaedic surgeon and veterinary ultrasonographer who visit when required and you will have the opportunity to work with both of them on occasion.Croydon treat a large variety of cases and the team take great pride in working up cases to an extremely high standard – every day is an exciting new challenge here.
A routine day with us consists of at least 2 dedicated anaesthetic nurses, a dedicated inpatient/kennel nurse, a dedicated consult nurse with another RVN to support these roles. These shifts involve accountability of your inpatients, managing the patient from admit to discharge, supporting the operating vets, taking blood samples, catheterising inpatients, working out / drawing up all pre-meds, intubating patients and scrubbing in to assist the vets.
Our Nurse consults consist of 2nd Vaccines, Post Op checks, Wound Management, Weight clinics, Dental clinics, Diabetic clinics and everything else in between. Currently we have nurses within our practice that have completed/attending the surgical skills course, allowing for even more variety in their roles.
Our practice has recently undergone an expansion and we now have separate cat/dog/isolation wards as well as additional consultation rooms, larger prep area and theatre and a new reception. We are very well equipped and onsite we have a range of state of the art equipment including digital x-ray, New Doppler ultrasound with ECG, Endoscopy, Multiparameter, Doppler blood pressure machine, in-house catalyst machine for biochemistry and Idexx Procyte for haematology.
At Companion Care Croydon we encourage learning and development and all our vets enjoy teaching. They are very patient and understanding, this is why we allow our nursing team to complete many supportive procedures, including routine scale and polishing for all dentals, placement and taking of x-rays, wound management and much more. Clinical Coach training to support our SVN’s is also desirable but not essential.
Being part of the Vet group allows us to benefit from the support they offer, yet we are able to run and provide the services we wish to provide to our clients and our local community with full clinical freedom.
Our Location also offers good transport links into London as well as being on many local bus & tram routes. Free car parking is also available on site.
