An exciting opportunity has arisen within St Peter's Nursing Home for the role of a Registered Nurse, within a 24-bed family orientated Nursing Home in Maldon. This is a permanent role.
Salary: £21.00 + per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (3 Days 12.5-hour shift)
50 hours per week (4 days 12.5-hour shift)

Your duties will involve but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and support for care staff and act as a champion for resident’s safety and dignity.
- Creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the residents
- Liaise with GPs and other health professionals to ensure that residents receive the medical and clinical support they require.
- Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for R.M.O / GP / Professional visits where necessary.
- To support empowerment of residents having regard for their dignity, rights, and advice, whilst maintaining professional responsibility for residents in our care
- Ensure that individual care plans, risk assessments and MCAs are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, relatives, and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines.
- Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by the Nursing home Manager, MD, or Clinical Lead
- Ensure effective and clearly documented handover systems are maintained to facilitate the effective transfer of information between staff and shifts.
- Attend and participate in nurse and staff meetings as arranged by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Understand and ensure the implementation of the Nursing home’s Health and Safety Policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures
- To assist in the maintenance of and promotion of effective communication with residents, relatives, staff, and other agencies, whilst developing good relationships, promoting education and awareness of the role of the service.
- To demonstrate non-discriminatory practice in all aspects of work.
- Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines / regulations.
- To complete clinical audits on a monthly basis
- To complete admission and discharge process’ in line with company policy.
- To assist the clinical lead in administrative tasks such as pre-admission assessments, DOLs and supervisions.
Requirements:
· Confident skills such as in PEGS, catheterisation, syringe drivers, RIGG feeds and diabetic management.
· You must have previous experience working with dementia or challenging behaviour patients.
· Knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools, e.g. Waterlow, MUST
· Understanding care planning processes and have experience of writing comprehensive care plans
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and Access
· Be of a good character, patient, reliable, caring and have good level of spoken and written English and communication skills.
