A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join our Double blue unit and the fabulous team on the Kinmonth Unit. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate and dynamic.
The kinmonth unit is a 14 bedded unit which consists of all side rooms. It delivers acute and high dependency care to patients undergoing major head and neck reconstruction both ENT and Maxillofacial with altered airways and patients requiring major plastic and reconstructive surgery.
As an effective leader and role model you will work flexibly as a member of the team developing your deputies and the team, to ensure that standards are maintained, evaluated and where necessary improved. You will be an effective role model and be involved in helping develop all aspects of the unit in line with the Trusts visions and future plans. Full participation will be expected in the provisions of policies and procedures, improvements to the patient’s journey and environment, the delivery of high quality clinical care and staff development.
You will possess extensive clinical expertise. A background in intensive or high dependency care would be advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.

You must be flexible, possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be experienced in all aspects of ward/unit/department management
Take 24 hour responsibility and accountability for the given area, visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of service users, patients, carers and the public. Provide direction, effective and inspirational leadership to the nursing, admin., and multidisciplinary team (including ancillary and clinical staff) within the area for which they are accountable. Be responsible for ensuring high standards of infection prevention and control are practiced at all times.
Act as an expert clinical practitioner providing through themselves and their team an excellent quality of care to patients and service users. Act as a clinical and managerial role model within the department team, CMG and across the wider organisation. Take responsibility for the provision of a supportive learning environment for all students on placement within the department for which they are responsible.
Practice clinically in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for a defined caseload. Be clinically based and practice clinically at least 50% of their working time
