Dorset Health Care are looking for a Staff Nurse to join their highly motivated and innovate team based at Westminster memorial hospital, Shaftesbury.
We are a 15 bedded ward that specialises in Elderly care rehabilitation and End of life care.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic Staff nurse for 30 hrs per week, working a mix of days and nights.
The successful candidate will need to have strong interpersonal skills and will be working within a multi disciplinary team to ensure that the patients rehabilitation journey is individualised and supportive of the patients wishes.
To assist the Sister/Charge Nurse in providing a high quality nursing care and treatment of patients in conjunction with other professionals through the hospital’s multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment and care programmes.
To meet service objectives and work within the operational
policy
Promote and ensure evidence informed practice.
To undertake the nursing assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
Carrying out all relevant forms of nursing care to a high professional standard.
To play an active part in the ward / unit’s multi-disciplinary patient treatment programmes.
Administering medication, complying with the nursing responsibilities under the Medicines Act (1968), the Misuse of Drugs Act (1971), and any other relevant Trust legislation.
Maintaining an effective reporting system by observing and reporting verbally and ensure a high standard of record / case note recording which will include IT systems.
Attending case conferences / review meetings with other members of the multi- disciplinary team to review patient’s conditions and their progress in the programme of care and rehabilitation.
