Job description

The post holder would be part of a team providing senior leadership within this specialist service on a day to day basis, rotating into ICU and as nurse shift coordinator working closely with the multi-disciplinary team in delivery of care to burns injured patients and their families.

Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

We currently have a band 6 vacancy to join our team on Burns ICU at Manchester University Foundation Trust Wythenshawe sites busy Regional Adult Burns Centre. The unit has its own intensive care, high dependency and ward level beds running along side our operating theatre and outreach service.

As a team, we are committed to delivering the highest standards of care whilst meeting the physical, emotional and complex psychosocial needs of our patients. The unit encourages and supports staff development having links with the Critical Care Institute and other educational providers within Greater Manchester.

To apply for this position it is essential you have 12 months NHS experience and have 3 years ICU skills as a registered nurse. Burns experience is derisible but not essential.
