We have an exciting opportunity in our Hereford clinic for a nurse (or a nurse who is due to qualify) to work in dialysis. Working within dialysis gives an opportunity for you to specialise along with building patient relationships whilst making a real difference to our patient’s lives.
Diaverum offer a fantastic training platform to enable nurses to deliver excellent quality care. Nurses new to Diaverum will undergo a 12 week supernumery period where they will be trained to deliver the care required within the clinic. The training is led by our own Clinical leads who will continue to guide you throughout your career at Diaverum helping you to reach full potential and grow. You will be supported by a senior team structure and have a mentor within the clinic allocated to you.
At Diaverum our patient ratio is 1:4 giving you the required time to care for your patients holistically. The Hereford clinic is closed on Sundays and shifts cover Monday to Saturday 06:30am – 11pm or 6:30 - 6:30pm some days allowing you work life balance and flexibility.
As a nurse led unit Hereford pride themselves in the excellent care that they provide to our patients; and as they see the same patient group every week this ensures that they benefit from an excellent continuity of care. The clinic has strong links with our parent hospital, the Queen Elizabeth hospital Birmingham and our Unit renal Consultant who is based there. Hereford have parking facilities for staff on site at no cost to staff.
Hereford are a small friendly unit where our philosophy is to nuture so as to efficiently and effectively develop our staff. For a newly qualified nurse this is an excellent environment as we can offer a protected area in which to develop a safe and accountable practice. Renal encompasses many other specialities and allows students to develop on the theory and placements that they have undertaken during their training and gives them opportunities in the future.
ROLE;
You will be responsible for taking ownership of care programmes for renal patients, following the tailored care plans as per Consultant instructions and ensuring clinical activity is appropriately documented in the patient medical record. Further responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and monitoring dialysis machines and systems in line with Diaveurm processes; reviewing pre and post haemodialysis care with patients; working in a multi-disciplinary team etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- NMC Registered General Nurse or due to receive PIN in 2023.
- Awareness and Understanding of NMC code of professional conduct
- Be able to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team
- Have a positive and dynamic approach to providing safe and effective delivery of care
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Saturday, Shifts hours from 6:30am to 11:00pm and please note that there are no nights or Sunday working
- Starting salary for non-renal experienced nurses is £27,055.
- Sign on bonus of £3,000 available

- Overtime paid at time and a half after completing full-time hours (150 hours every 4 weeks)

You must be able to work clinically in a renal setting. We reserve the right to close the role early should we be in receipt of sufficient applications.
