Regional Operations Manager (Production)
Salary: 80k OTE
Location: Kent sites - Ashford, Crayford and Gillingham
ABL 1 Touch was established in 1994 and is a private equity backed vehicle repair business renown as a leader in its field. Working in partnership with insurance companies to deliver high quality repair services to their customers and with sites spread across the UK. We’ve got plans for continued growth and are looking to grow our teams as a result.
In preparation for opening of new sites we’re looking for a Regional Operations Manager (internal title - Head of Production Operations). This is a critical role that will help shape and deliver success within our business as we embark upon our ambitious growth plans. The role will oversee a number of sites, ensuring their efficient and profitable operation as well as the delivery of work in a consistent manner in keeping with our internal standards. Your role is key to ensuring the support for Production Managers in maintaining consistent and strong performance across sites, whilst driving best practice and excellence.
What you will be doing:
- To ensure the profitability of all sites within your region, by overseeing the cost of labour, paint and parts
- Maintain an overview of site performance, ensuring accurate forecasting and efficient production
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement, to processes, methods and new technology – supported by action plans to transition and implement whilst managing change
- Manage the allocated budget, ensuring all costs and expenditure is accounted for
- Regularly collation of management information to support decision making, including production levels, parts, paint and staffing levels
- Lead, manage and inspire a team of Production Managers to support them with the day to day running of their sites
- Proactively oversee the recruitment for sites ensuring timely hiring and a positive candidates experience, whilst taking the lead on Production and Assistant Production Manager recruitment
- Support in the coaching and development of Production and Assistant Production Managers, taking responsibility for their training and progression
What skills and experience do you need to be successful:
- Experience of managing and leading teams, with a good understanding of how to get the best out of people – firm but fair approach and strong role modelling
- Lean / continuous improvement mindset with an eye to drive and deliver change across your sites
- Great technical skills with experience of body and paint repair in the retail motor industry
- Confident working in a target / goal driven environment Great influencing skills and confident working with and presenting to stakeholders across all levels
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to demonstrate good business acumen and financial control
- Experience of improving process and methods, driving efficiency and maximising productivity
- Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Strong collaboration and team working skills with the ability to drive results through this
- Good MS office skills with the ability to present information in various ways
- Strong problem solving skills, with an analytical approach
- Strong work ethic and self starter, able to work on own initiative and prioritise the right things
- Passion for delivering quality and achieving customer delight
