Job description
The role of the Regional Operations Manager is a senior position within Operations required to facilitate the implementation of STGP’s core operational activities, growth aspirations and overall business development strategy.
The Regional Operations Manager will work alongside the senior level operational management team and all operational site level managers to drive wider, joined up and cohesive operational requirements through one single way of working.
The Regional Operations Manager is expected to be an ambassador of the company to lead and deliver an all-encompassing Operation and Operations team that is industry leading in terms of HSW culture, plant efficiency targets and results alongside team cultural behaviour and stakeholder relationships. A strong decision maker with the ability to think on their feet, steady under pressure and capable of implementing and delivering cascaded strategy without delay or noise. Responsible for the London Region consisting of 2 AD sites, 2 IVC sites and associated lagoons, digestate storage & infrastructure.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Drive and support STGP’s operational performance, optimisation, utilisation and efficiency to ensure that the “best in class sector performance” is maintained as current levels and is not reduced or distracted through growth phases.
· Ensure key and critical operational and business risks are always identified, managed, and covered off with a plan. This should include “examples” such as: LPD1’s deployment pipeline and product export pipeline both solid/liquid fractions and the closed period storage requirements.
· Manage the forward strategy of the operations on the London sites looking at planning, managing the processing of all feedstocks and maximising operating efficiency and margins, with specific responsibility on site and region profit and loss accounts and PBIT (profit before interest and tax)
· Manage and oversee safe implementation of projects on all sites from start to finish.
· Coordinate and work alongside the transport team to manage the digestate spreading and compost management via haulage & spreading, ensuring compliance and permits required are in place and met with maximum efficiency and revenues.
· Oversee and manage deployments, permits and licences as required.
· Ensure all sites and infrastructure are proactively maintained/ With significant maintenance tasks planned, controlled and delivered by the Site Managers.
· Plan and overseeing routine maintenance and site improvements across the region to minimise down time

Preferred experience/qualifications
- Essential
- Management of site, operations, people and site HSW
- Ability to train and mentor at all levels
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude
- Operation of plant and machinery
- Mechanical aptitude & plant operator experience (telehandler, excavator, bobcat, Cherry picker & Loading shovel)
- Relevant Wamitab qualifications in biological treatments to inc: GW composting and or AD and or IVC and or land spreading
- Desirable
- Knowledge of spreading permits and deployments
- NEBOSH National Standard, Health & Safety certificate
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for EA, ABP, HSE, PAS
- Knowledge and experience of DSEAR and HACCP regulations and requirements.
- B.A and confined space management, including higher level training in managing confined space
