Job description
Tesla is looking for an experienced leader to manage all aspects of our Charging programs in the UK region. Reporting to the European Network Lead, the Regional Manager will oversee the commercial development and technical deployment of charging infrastructure deployment The Regional Manager will be responsible for continuously shaping solutions and teams that best fit the infrastructure needs of the rapidly growing electric vehicle market in their region. The Regional Manager will collaborate with internal and external parties as we continue to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
- Oversee execution of all charging-related planning, site acquisition, deployment, and market development activities within the region
- Use data to make informed decisions about strategy and the resources needed to accomplish the overall goals for the region
- Manage and oversee major market-based teams responsible for market-specific deployment across the entire charging project life cycle, from network planning to construction closeout
- Oversee, collaborate with, and support local charging teams to develop the infrastructure market, exploring new business models, new policies, and new thinking into the mainstream. Collaborate with Tesla Sales, Service, Marketing, and other groups to drive strategies across the region
- Regional resource allocation and performance management
- Coordinate with the European and HQ teams, engineering, installation and other relevant teams to ensure deployment is on time and within budget, and product development and program progress are coordinated with market priorities
- Oversee and, when necessary, personally develop major business relationships and contractor and government relationships across the region
- A clear passion to drive charging as a critical enabler of business growth for Tesla and of a more sustainable energy future
- Knowledgeable about basic energy topics, with a good working knowledge of EV infrastructure and the challenges faced in the market
- Ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
- Outstanding track record of realizing projects that involve multiple, disparate stakeholders, complicated by a dynamic landscape
- Experience managing high-performing, highly adaptive and entrepreneurial teams with remote market-based workers, ideally with the goal of creating new markets in rapidly evolving environments
- Ability to anticipate challenges and prepare/solve for them before they impact the business
- Excellent communication skills: strategic listener, conscious conversationalist, and the ability to persuade and influence people from a wide range of roles and backgrounds
- Ability to drive negotiations and partnerships with business and policy contacts at the highest levels
- Ability to execute a metrics-driven approach to strategy, reporting, and program evolution
- Willingness to travel on short notice
