  • Suffolk County Council - Recruiting countywide across Suffolk
  • Adult Social Worker (Grade 5): £32,909 - £36,298 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • Adult Senior Social Worker (Grade 6): £37,000 - £42,380 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • Plus retention payments for 2, 3 and 5 years service of £1,000, £1,500 and £2,000
  • Full time and Part time hours available
  • Permanent

You will need to:

  • be a qualified, registered social worker
  • have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for grade 6 Senior Social Worker posts
  • have good knowledge, understanding and experience of working with relevant legislation in practice.

You will have the ability and experience to undertake innovative strengths-based assessments and care planning with individuals, carers, and their personal support networks.

You will also be open to change, innovative and confident with a focus on strengthening social work; be ambitious about what people can achieve and keen to explore ideas for positive outcomes.

    South Waveney, Lowestoft, Flexible Care and Support and Hospital to Home teams
  • West Suffolk- with bases in Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Haverhill and Sudbury
    Haverhill, Bury Rural, Bury Town, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Sudbury, Flexible Care and Support and Hospital to Home teams
  • Ipswich and East Suffolk- with bases in Ipswich, Woodbridge, Leiston and Felixstowe
    Ipswich West, Ipswich East, Woodbridge, Hospital Discharge to Assess, Leiston, Flexible Care and Support, Felixstowe and Optimising Care and Support teams
  • Mental Health- with bases in Lowestoft, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds
    North, South, East, West, Review and Specialist Support teams
  • Learning Disabilities and Autism- with bases in Lowestoft, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds
    North, South, East, West, Review and Specialist Support teams
  • Independence and Wellbeing Service- with bases in Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich
  • Adult Safeguarding and Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)- with bases in Ipswich

Please note that the Hospital Teams operate a 7-day working pattern, so a weekend working rota (approximately 1 weekend per month) would apply.



Travel requirements of the role: Frequent Travel

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role, you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
