Regional Manager - Central South & West
Overview
To lead and manage operations across the retail estate supporting in achieving business goals and maximising profitability. As a regional manager your role includes leading and motivating area managers in your region, setting performance objectives, evaluating, and optimizing operational performance, ensuring regulatory and company standards are upheld, ensuring your teams accountability for regional KPIS and sales performance.
This role reports into the UK Retail Director and with two other Regional Managers, will take responsibility of operational excellence, a customer first approach and a great colleague experience, and will business partner closely with key stake holders and colleagues to create a positive customer and colleague experience.

Core
- Understand the business and channel strategy and communicate, engage, and inspire regional and store teams to play their part in its delivery.
- Continually review ways of working, establishing best practices, ensuring consistent delivery in every region
- Support the Area Managers to review and optimise store portfolio performance through KPIs, ensuring business plans are in place at local level to develop opportunities.
- Take timely and appropriate action to drive sales and profitability, to reflect desired business results.
- Drive excellent standards both front and back of house.
- Develop store operational processes with a view to optimise ranging, allocation and replenishment processes and enable reduced stock levels, better availability, and increased sales through ranging.
- Work with marketing to establish VM strategy, and ensure stores deliver excellence in line with company guidelines, whilst optimising commercial opportunities at both a local and regional level.
- Deliver timely product/trading feedback and produce weekly trade information. Own retail input into campaign reviews, trade decks, and other reports as required.
- Utilise management information tools and financial reports to identify and address trends and opportunities, providing input to the annual budgeting, sales and reforecast processes.
- Manage timescales and cost control for store openings, closures, refits, and relocations.
- Partner with retail operations ensuring the right structure to deliver timely and accurate communication to stores, and speedy responses to queries/feedback.
- Partner with the People Team to own the retail people strategy ensuring goals, timelines, and updates on progress.
- Partner with the Learning and Development team to create robust training and development opportunities for colleagues whilst driving sales through product and service training.
- Lead and support area managers to create their own development plans and have meaningful coaching conversations that drive performance, facilitating any learning opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills of our store teams.
- Act as a coach for your Area Managers to support in developing their commerciality and ensure they are in tune with local and industry trends and how our business compares.
Financial / Commercial
- Own all controllable elements of the regions P&L.
- Deliver retail sales budgets/targets and all relevant controllable costs, constantly seeking opportunities to drive revenue or reduce cost.
- Lead the analysis and evaluation of brand metrics and performance at regional level to inform short to mid-term optimisation actions.
- Ensure accurate payroll forecasts, optimising spend in every store, and deliver to agreed forecasts.
- Ensure schedules reflect customer trends to maximise productivity and recommend investment where appropriate.
Customer & Brand Focus
- Maintain a relentless focus on our customer, in driving continuous improvements to our overall service proposition and measure progress through KPIs and metrics.
- Lead and support Area Managers and their store teams to deliver a strong and engaging customer experience.
- Build relationships both internally and externally to support region-wide operations, understanding our customer profiles and identifying opportunities to act on the customer and local community’s needs.
- Create a forum of continuous communication and partnership with the retail function, to support idea generation and implementation.
- Understand customer trends, the regional market and industry standards to support an evolving positive customer experience throughout the brand.
