Job Advert Description
A number of exciting opportunities have arisen within the Tarian Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU). We are seeking to recruit multiple Intelligence Researchers on permanent and fixed term contracts across different capabilities. ROCUs form a critical part of the national policing network, providing a range of specialist policing capabilities to forces which help them to tackle serious and organised crime effectively.
Tarian capabilities include the Tackling Organised Exploitation Programme (TOEX), undercover policing, specialist surveillance, cyber-crime investigation, and economic crime investigation. Tarian investigate and disrupt organised crime groups operating across police force boundaries. Additionally, we act as an important point of connection between police forces and the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The Intelligence Researcher role represents an entry level opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career within intelligence. In this role you will receive an ideal grounding within intelligence and an opportunity to gain knowledge of policing systems and develop a specific skill set, which will provide a solid foundation to progress into more senior roles such as an Intelligence Analyst.
Successful candidates will assist Intelligence Analysts and Officers by extracting and interrogating relevant data from policing and third-party systems, handling and assessing sensitive intelligence, and conducting open-source research. You will be joining our investigative or strategic analytical teams to identify connections within this information and develop intelligence.
We are seeking inquisitive, adaptable, and methodical candidates who want to make a difference. The threats Tarian tackles are ever changing. This is why we need Intelligence Researchers who can identify key information and make connections in the fight against serious and organised crime.

You may have the flexibility to work from home in accordance with the requirements of the role and current working policies. You may occasionally be required to work from other sites in the South Wales Region.
The successful candidate(s) must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC level.
This role is suitable for part time/job share workers
Please note, if you are subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, you appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis
