We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Regional Cat Welfare Advisor. You will join us working 35 hours per week, on a permanent basis. In return you will receive a salary of up to £28,902.27 per annum plus excellent benefits.
The role will be home-based in the North Scotland area (Highlands & Islands, Aberdeenshire, Dundee & Angus, Perthshire, Stirling & Forth Valley and Fife), and travel is necessary for the execution of the post holder’s duties throughout the UK.
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of adoption and homing centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops.
The Cat Welfare Team provides cat welfare support Cats Protection’s volunteer branch network, assisting with requests for welfare support, carrying out welfare support visits to volunteer fosterers and supporting new fosterer induction. Our team consists of two Cat Welfare Managers and ten Cat Welfare Advisors, across four Cats Protection territories.
Responsibilities of our Regional Cat Welfare Advisor:
As a Regional Cat Welfare Advisor you will support our volunteer branches by undertaking welfare support visits to fosterers, maintaining accurate records using the welfare support system, producing annual branch welfare plans and helping branches understand and adhere to our cat welfare policies. The role will contribute to local action plans; build successful and supportive working relationships with volunteers; provide assistance with the induction, training and on-going support of volunteer Cat Welfare Team Leaders and Fosterers, support branches to reduce the time from admission to adoption for cats in care and work with other Cats Protection teams, including Branch Development Managers, Field Veterinary Officers; Feline Welfare and Learning and Development, to assist in delivering initiatives that promote good cat welfare and share best practice.
What we’re looking for in our Regional Cat Welfare Advisor:
- Proven experience of working in the animal welfare sector
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of working in an environment where compliance against an agreed set of standards is necessary
- An aptitude for working with processes and systems
- Ability to produce reports using Microsoft Office, to a high standard
- The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders
- A full UK driving licence
- Flexible to work some weekends and evenings
