IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Red Hat Engineer, you will serve as a client-facing practitioner who sells, leads and implements expert services utilizing the breadth of IBM's offerings and technologies. A successful Consultant is regarded by clients as a trusted business advisor who collaborates to provide innovative solutions used to solve the most challenging business problems.
You will work developing solutions that excel at user experience, style, performance, reliability and scalability to reduce costs and improve profit and shareholder value.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Analyze the clients' legacy applications and surrounding systems, defining target application architectures including the new cloud-native core systems, and modernization strategies for our clients.
- Work with clients and IBM team to identify the most effective modernization approach and help modernize their legacy applications or build a completely new application stack using modern cloud native architectures.
- Envision creative ways of applying cloud infrastructure and platform services to help solve business problems; and communicating these approaches to different business audiences in designated industries.
- Act as a consultant during project delivery & solutioning phases. Leads implementation of architecture for omnichannel systems of engagement.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Should be strong in software architecture fundamentals & assets, tools using garage method for cloud. The practitioner should have at least 2 years of experience in API and Microservices based architecture implementation.
- Should be strong in microservices fundamentals and should be expert in at least one of these technologies - Node.js, Spring boot, Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS.
- Should have very good understanding about cloud native development principles.
- Should be strong in containers and serverless computing fundamentals.
- Added advantage if has good understanding of Angular.js, scripting technologies like javascript, CSS.
- The practitioner should have experience in working on RedHat OpenShift and ability to map existing components/functionalities to RedHat OpenShift specific services and deeply understands the advantage and disadvantages of related RedHat OpenShift services.
- You hold at least one Red Hat professional certification (RHCE, RHCSA,…)
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with cloud solutions in Red Hat OpenShift
- Experience in building cloud applications, application development or application modernization
- Experience with Containers, Microservices, and DevOps
- Experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or similar and JavaScript
- Development experience in Java and other languages
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
- Knowledge of application architecture (application servers, integration patterns, microservices, JEE, CI/CD, build management etc.)
- Knowledge of and experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
