Role Overview:
These are brand new roles in a brand new factory so you will be part of the set up team – an exciting time to join the new manufacturing part of our business. We will be running one shift initially (6am-2pm, Monday to Friday), moving towards 2 shifts from 2024. Interviews will take place early April with a view to a start date early May.

In a Nutshell…
We have a great new opportunity for a team of Production Supervisors to join our team within Vistry Works, at our brand new factory in Coalville, Leicestershire. As Production Supervisors you will be responsible for working alongside and supervising a production team within a timber frame manufacturing facility (we manufacture timber frames for the housebuilding industry). You will work on a designated area of production including an automated cutting department, automated and manual production lines and product wrapping, maintaining the highest level of safety, environmental and product quality standards.

- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in training others and to have held a position of responsibility, ideally in a leadership capacity.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, being able to motivate and train production staff to achieve deadlines and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
- A thorough understanding of Health and Safety and the requisite processes and procedures, with the safety and wellbeing of our people being our key priority.
- The ability to identify, communicate and implement opportunities for continuously improving working methods.
- CNC experience would be advantageous but not essential.
More about the Production Supervisor role…
- This is a fully working Supervisor role where you will working alongside your team while leading and supervising them.
- You will be responsible for competently supervising an area of production, ensuring product quality and productivity is maintained at the agreed set levels.
- You will ensure all safety and environmental policies are adhered to and applied consistently, including carrying out various checks and recording all data associated with them.
- You will understand and observe health and safety rules and be aware of the safety of self and others to promote a safe working environment and culture.
- You will work collaboratively with other areas of production, ensuring that all areas work as one whole team to achieve shared goals and targets. You will also be cross-trained on all other areas of production to ensure we have a one team approach.
- You will develop and train team members to carry out tasks in their own area of expertise and be involved in their assessment by providing feedback, to build flexible teams and drive a high-performance culture.
- You will be alert to ‘right first time’ quality standards, informing others where standards are not met so that they can take appropriate action as required to contribute to the production of a quality product.
- You will work alongside the Engineering Team to carry out basic problem diagnosis, or call for further assistance where it is required to ensure that any downtime is minimal.
- You will ensure that expected material requirements are in place, resolving material shortages where possible, or escalating any issues, to contribute to the completion of the production plan using appropriate systems where necessary.
- You will be flexible and willing to assist in other production areas where necessary, taking a hands-on role to ensure that production schedules are met.
- You will be able to identify, communicate and implement opportunities for continuously improving working methods and seeking efficiencies.
- You will be required to carry out any reasonable tasks or operations as directed by your line manager in the course of your duties.
