Purpose of the role
To provide an end to end recruitment service to candidates and employers through consulting with employers including providing advice on the current job market, filling jobs with suitable candidates and selling the value of the Step Ahead service. Building strong relationships with employers, taking vacancies, registering candidates and working with internal colleagues to ensure the employer is provided with a service that results in sustained job outcomes
Primary Responsibilities:
To ensure the following:
- Proactively seek out and develop new business opportunities and sell the Step Ahead service to employers that have jobs that match Step Ahead’s business goals
- Create and sustain strong employer and other stakeholder relationships through the provision of consultancy advice on job and candidate markets
- Ensure agreed targets across contracts are met or exceeded for candidate registration, attendance on training, job placement and sustainment's
- Obtain prescribed evidence of job placements from employers at the earliest opportunity
- Ensure the maintenance of appropriate employer, job and candidate records in line with all relevant requirements and using the company systems and processes
- Sell the value of the Step Ahead provision to candidates
- Fully register and work with candidates to understand their requirements and match to suitable jobs
- Provide CV, interview and general career advice as needed
- Understand the requirements of all relevant contracts
- Ensure compliance requirements are met promptly and accurately
- Work effectively with other departments to achieve overall results
- To obtain an IAG Level 2 qualification, funded by the company, within a stipulated timeframe
- To at all times lead by example, proactively promoting the Step Ahead Values, Corporate Mission and Customer Service Rules
- Any other duties required which fall within the level and scope of the post.
Skills and Experience
- A strong background in sales, recruitment or business development
- Well-developed sales skills to facilitate the development of strong relationships with employers and other stakeholders
- An ability to work to deadlines and be flexible to changing requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide age range, background and ability
- The ability to overcome objections and be persistent
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A passionate desire to succeed and build a successful career
- A self starter who can work effectively within a team who are all working remotely
- The scope to travel to the contract areas when required

- That you are a team player by supporting your colleagues as appropriate
- That you seek to continuously improve performance by learning and developing new skills and keeping up to date with latest developments in the sector
- That you undergo appropriate levels of coaching, development and support when needed; helping to identify your own:

- Expectations as a result of the development activity
- Actions to support the development activity
- Performance against business objectives as a result of the development activity
- That ideas and suggestions for improving performance are provided.
