Job description
- Handle day to day recruitment functions within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for positions reporting to the Home Office Campus which entails determining proper recruitment techniques, coordinating job fairs, recruiting, posting positions to vendor job boards, interviewing, pre-employment testing for candidates, conducting employment history verifications and working with hiring manager throughout the hiring process
- Source and recruit candidates; review resume, screen candidates, and schedule interviews in compliance with OFCCP and DOT guidelines
- Conduct new hire orientations and respond to inquiries regarding policies and procedures
- Responsible for Outreach/ Networking (building relationships with outside agencies, schools, industry contacts)
- Interact with job applicants, employees, managers, and outside agencies regarding job openings, unemployment hearings, and Human Resource inquiries
- Serve as company representative in unemployment hearings as necessary
- Maintain knowledge of organization, state and federal laws in order to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding the interpretation of established Human Resources policies and procedures
- Responsible for conducting routine audits, e.g., state and federal law employment posters
- Cross-trains as backup for all other department duties; assisting with employee hotline calls, regional recruitment and other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or General Education Experience (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
- 2 years recruiting experience required
- 2 years HR experience and knowledge of employment laws required
- Strong sourcing and interviewing skills required
- 2 years Transportation/ Logistics/ Trucking/ knowledge highly preferred
- Knowledge of general DOT requirements, employment laws and recruitment practices highly preferred
- Ability to handle confidential data and requests and maintain confidentiality of work products
- Experience with online recruitment resources such as Indeed, LinkedIn, University job boards, career-related websites
- Collaborative team player
- Demonstrated ability to work with leadership and build strong partnerships
- Ability to adapt and be flexible based on business needs
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong time management, planning, organization and follow up skills
- Effective problem identification and issue resolution skills
- Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
- Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
- Must be able to interact well with others
- Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
- Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
