World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Data Scientist.
As the Data Scientist, you will establish and maintain capacity models and process standards, measuring performance to plan. You will execute the capacity planning (labor, equipment, services) for the Complaint Investigation Teams for each financial cycle and to seek out & implement opportunities for efficiency & productivity improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- To establish, set and maintain capacity models and process standards, measuring performance to output plan for ADC CIG sites & analyse capacity requirements to achieve output, propose labour and equipment resources to achieve business plans
- Measure performance to plan & design solutions to address unfavorable variances and ensure they are delivered effectively and in a timely manner
- To execute the capacity planning (labor, equipment, services) for the Complaint Investigation Teams for each financial cycle and to seek out & implement opportunities for efficiency & productivity improvements
- To perform data mining queries within the complaint handling system using analytical software solutions. Monitor & perform queries on statistical data provided by Third party manufacturer, recommend adjustments to statistical protocols
- Recommend and implement appropriate processes & tools to facilitate more efficient means of capturing, monitoring & presentation of data form various independent sources
- Perform data scenario planning to meet the needs of the business as CIG & PQA embark & progress through transformational changes
- Propose, lead, and implement continuous improvement programs that increase efficiencies reduce cost, and improve the quality of service that is provided by the Complaint Investigation team. Once opportunities are identified, define and financially justify projects, launch project team, track project and program status and results, remove and elevate project barriers
- Supervise & mentor professional development graduates or other personnel undertaking operational excellence placements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in either Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Science, Engineering
- Solid project management skills and team leadership skills
- Knowledge of other functions that provide inputs regularly, i.e., Finance, Logistics, Engineering, and Operations, Research and Development
- Ability to perform statistical analysis
- Ability to perform complex scenario planning
- Extensive relevant experience of working within an operational field with supply chain/planning experience
